Summer holidays on the Schmittenhöhe mountain in Zell am See

Alpine holiday in the Pinzgau region

The Pinzgauer Hütte lodge is open for you from the beginning of June to the end of September.

Holiday days in summer on the Schmittenhöhe with a night’s stay or a break in the Pinzgauer Hütte lodge allow you to experience the alpine idyll! You can reach our mountain lodge on a hike, by bike or by eMountainbike. The majority of the well-developed hiking paths on the Schmittenhöhe can also be travelled by eBike. And whilst you pamper yourself with some food in our comfortable mountain restaurant, you can charge your eBike at one of our own eBike charging stations (from the brand Bosch). Due to the access possibility to the well-known "Pinzgauer Spaziergang" (Pinzgau walk), our mountain lodge is also a destination well-worth heading for.

How to get there:

In summer, there are numerous ways to reach the Pinzgauer Hütte lodge.

  • The fastest of these is with the Schmittenbahn mountain lift, located in the middle of Zell am See, to approximately 2000 metres above sea level, with a subsequent approximately 45-minute hike to our lodge. In good weather and in good visibility, our lodge can already be seen from the mountain station.
  • However, you can also reach us from Piesendorf via the hiking path 1A in approx. 2.5 h. There are parking possibilities next to the Piesendorfer church.
  • It is also possible to travel up in summer with the AreitXpress 1 mountain lift in Schüttdorf. At the mountain station, you can then continue to the Breiteckalm (alpine restaurant) and over the Paffenkendlsteig (ascent) directly to the Pinzgauer Hütte lodge. The hike takes approximately 2h.
